Article II. MERCHANTS |
§ 9-19. Same—Exemptions.
The following merchants or activities are exempt from the licensing requirements of this article:
(1)
All nonprofit religious, charitable, educational, scientific or civic organizations, including school groups and governmental entities;
(2)
The sale of farm or nursery products by the grower of such products, wood for fuel, ice, seafood, meat, poultry, livestock, eggs, dairy products, bread, cakes or pies;
(3)
Vendors, merchants, exhibitors and salesmen who exhibit, demonstrate, or solicit orders for goods in conjunction with and as part of the organized program of conventions, professional meetings or seminars;
(4)
Any person, firm or corporation selling printed material or distributing free samples from his or her person;
(5)
Any person, firm or corporation authorized as an automobile dealer pursuant to Chapter 20 of the General Statutes;
(6)
Any person, firm or corporation who locates at a farmer's market;
(7)
A person who sells crafts or goods made by him or his own household personal property;
(8)
Any person, firm or corporation who sells goods at an auction conducted by an auctioneer pursuant to Chapter 85B of the General Statutes;
(9)
A specialty market vendor.
