§ 1. [Incorporation and corporate powers.]

The inhabitants of the City of Kannapolis are incorporated a body corporate and politic under the name of the "City of Kannapolis," subject to the provisions of this act and a referendum of its qualified voters, as provided in Section 11 of this act. Under that name, they have all the powers, duties, rights, privileges and immunities conferred and imposed on cities by the General Law of North Carolina.
