§ 9-310. Findings and purposes.

The city council does hereby find that:
(1)

G.S. ch. 18B authorizes municipalities to exercise limited regulatory authority over the licensing and permitting of places selling alcoholic beverages and over consumption of alcoholic beverages.

(2)

The exercise of that authority by the city is for the benefit of public health, safety and welfare of its citizens.

(3)

The provisions of this article are intended to implement the authority of the city to the extent authorized by G.S. ch. 18B.
