§ 17-5. Extension of existing lines to serve individual property owner.

  • (a)

    Where a lot is within the boundaries of the city and is not served by water or sewer improvements, is shall be the responsibility of the lot owner desiring the water or sewer improvements to extend the lines to serve the property.

    (b)

    The extension of any water or sewer lines within the boundaries of the city to serve an individual lot must be in accordance with the provisions of this article.

    (c)

    All water or sewer line extensions shall be constructed and installed in accordance with plans and specifications which have been approved by the city. The city reserves the right to require that water line and sewer extensions be constructed and installed in accordance with plans and specifications which have been prepared by a registered professional engineer and approved by the engineer for the city or by the approving authority.

    (d)

    The city may require the individual owner to install five hydrant and/or lines of a larger size in order to serve future expansion.

    (e)

    When determined to be in the best interest of the city, the city reserves the right to construct and install water or sewer line extensions within the city.
