§ 17-1. Definitions.
Unless the context specifically indicates otherwise, the meanings of terms used in this chapter shall be as follows:
Approving authority shall mean the City Council of the City of Kannapolis, North Carolina, or any duly authorized deputy, agent or representative.
City shall mean the City of Kannapolis, North Carolina, or any duly authorized officials acting in its behalf.
City council shall mean the City Council of the City of Kannapolis, North Carolina.
Connection fee shall mean the standard calculated costs incurred by the city for provision of water and sewer facilities capacity to a consumer in accordance with the schedule of rates, fees, and charges.
Consumer shall mean each separate family, business, mobile home park, firm, corporation or individual using water or sewer service for domestic or business purposes.
Multiunit complex shall mean dwelling units such as townhouses, condominiums, apartment complexes or mobile homes; any structure that contains more than one (1) residential unit, or a structure that contains more than one (1) commercial or office space, or an undivided lot containing more than one (1) structure.
Individual unit within a multiunit complex shall mean each mobile home, single-family residence or business.
Person shall mean an individual, firm, company, association, society, corporation, institution or other group.
Shall is mandatory; may is permissive.
Subdivision shall mean any single parcel of land divided into two (2) or more building lots.
Tap fee shall mean the standard calculated costs incurred by the city for administration, materials and labor for connection of a consumer to the city water or sewer utility system in accordance with the schedule of rates, fees, and charges.
