§ 12-29. Camping; fires; picnic areas.

  • It shall be unlawful to:

    (a)

    Camping. Camp, park a car, trailer, or camper for the purpose of camping or stay overnight anywhere except in areas so designated.

    (b)

    Fire/grills. Kindle, build, maintain or use a fire except in places provided for such purposes. Any fire shall be continuously under the care and direction of a competent person from the time it is kindled until it is extinguished. No person shall throw away or discard any lighted match, cigar, cigarette, tobacco, paper or other material within or against any building, boat or vehicle, trash container or under any tree or its underbrush. Park patrons may bring gas or charcoal grills for use at the park in conjunction with a shelter or picnic site rental. These grills must be used only in designated picnic areas and must be placed within three (3) feet of the stationary grills provided by the park. No grills of any kind are permitted within the perimeter or under any shelter. (The term "or charcoal" shall be deleted.)

    (c)

    Deep fat fryers/grease pots. Bring or use deep fat frying or grease pots into any park.
